Title: "Trans Lives in Wartime: Experiences of Trans People and Trans Youth in Ukraine"
Date and time: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 3PM - 4:30 PM CET
The talk will explore the experiences of trans people in Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion, with particular attention to trans youth. Drawing on findings from two online surveys conducted in 2025 and 2026, the presentation will focus on how the war has affected trans people’s safety, well-being, access to healthcare and support, and everyday lives. The talk will also highlight the specific vulnerabilities and coping strategies of trans youth and discuss what their experiences reveal about the broader impact of war on LGBTQ+ communities in Ukraine.
